QA Settings
If you are working in an external tool, you must perform QA and spell check before delivery.
Using the minimal QA configuration described below is absolutely required!
You can either use the tools built into the CAT tool or external tools (XBench, Verifika, etc.) to perform QA.
Terminology
No special requirements
Target Segment Length
No special requirements (unless there are segment length limitations in a project. The project manager will inform you).
Empty Target
Check for empty target segments; they must not be present in the translated file.
Formatting
Check for proper (as in the source text) use of italics, bold, underline, superscript and subscript.
Consistency
Check that source segments with the same wording have been translated consistently.
Check that identical target segments do not correspond to different source segments.
Duplicate Words
Check for duplicate words in the translation.
Numbers and Symbols
Check that the target segment contains all the numbers from the source segment.
Check that the format of the numbers is consistent with the settings for the target language.
Punctuation
Check for proper use of punctuation.
Check for the presence of unnecessary spaces before punctuation marks.
Spaces
Check for double spaces.
Check for extra spaces at the end of a segment.
Tags
Check for the use of all tags from the source segment in the target segment.
Check for the correct order of tags.
