The subject matter and nature of medical texts are complicated not only in Polish. It is therefore not easy to translate them – specialist phrases do not always sound the same in English, Italian, French or German. Medical translations, in addition to language proficiency, require the command of specialist terminology and professional knowledge. These qualifications are only typical of translators who have a perfect command of medical translations. Therefore, translators selected to perform such projects have both linguist and specialist background. They are also aware of the responsibility which working on a medical translation entails, both for individual clients and institutions. Therefore, they consult with medical practitioners — e.g. in order to clarify and align the vocabulary or to develop the best form to communicate the original text.
